Urine Culture & Susceptibility Testing

The culture test includes the quantitation, isolation and identification of up to two organisms at >10,000 colonies/mL. The susceptibility is to determine the Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) susceptibility of a given organism to an antimicrobial agent. Results may be qualitatively reported as Susceptibility (S), Intermediate (I), or Resistant (R).

  • Preservative collection and transportation materials provided at no cost.
  • Antibiotic susceptibilities can be adjusted for your selected preference and are based on best practice choices for the organism identification.
  • Culture ID and susceptibility testing performed from your positive in-house culture media.
  • Negative growth reported at 24 hours.
